Every now and again when playing a video game, you may notice a curse or two. A few years ago it was just things like "hell" or the occasional "shit". I can recall three major games in particular that have explicit language in it.
Half-Life 2 was one of the first major games that had a few choice words in it, but can't recall exactly what they said. Maybe Doom 3 did too? Maybe Halo 2? I can't say for sure because I didn't play those. But I don't recall the F bomb in those games. Do you?
About 6 or so months ago I was playing Gears of War for xbox 360 and noticed some swearing. I am pretty sure it ranged from "shit" to "asshole". At this point I can't remember how often or frequent. . .but I know it was there.
Now, just this past weekend I was playing BioShock and noticed A LOT of swearing. We aren't talking words like shit or hell, but the more risky term "fuck". I was surprised how often they say those words in the game. And you know what, it kicked ass.
I love it because everyone swears. The fact that video games finally throw around the F bomb is great to me. I want realism and if you are getting shot at or a zombie is after you. . . sure enough you'd be swearing your ass off.
Up next, more nudity.
And yes, BioShock is phenomenal.
