I was sitting in class today and an idea hit me of something to add to the site. Most other blogs that you come across will have something called "similar stories" that list similar news posts when you read one story. So i figured I should give that a shot. So I got home from class and started to work on it and about 60 minutes later, it's finished.

This is pretty standard on other sites. But the fact I haven't added anything new lately was kind of bugging me. If there are similar stories when you read a blog, it will show the "closest" 3 matches. I say closest in quotes because its a pretty basic method to achieve this, but I may work on improving its accuracy in the future. With school, I really should be reading stuff on Russia or Europe rather than doing web stuff. ;X

But here is some bad news. The main problem I have with the site now is the comment spamming. Quite annoying. I am getting at least 10 spam attempts per day, sometimes 20 or more. So some will eventually get through. To combat this, I will be adding an email field that will have to be filled out when you post a comment to further enhance the spam protection. It will probably be added sometime in October. Speaking of October. . .

Besides the fact that it's getting cold and that really does suck. There is playoff baseball to watch! As of today, the Mets will be without Pedro Martinez, the Tigers have come back to Earth, and the Yankees will enter the playoffs with the league's best record. So we shall see what happens :)
