I keep seeing commercials for "saving the earth" and we need to "do our part".  But when you think about it, who are we really trying to save?  Ourselves or the Earth?

The truth is that the Earth is over 4 billion years old and modern human's have only lived on the earth for a few thousand years.  The Earth has been frozen over completely several times over (google snowball earth), meteorites the size of Texas have crashed here, and enormous volcanoes have erupted.  In fact, over 99% of species that have lived on earth are extinct.

So do you really believe that global warming will doom the Earth?  A five degree global difference will ruin life for everything?!  Hardly.  The truth is that we need to do something to save our own asses.  If temperatures rise 5 degrees globally then humans will be losing a lot of precious land.  The Earth was here long before we got here and will be here long after we're gone.  It will repair itself in a couple hundred million years.

Save the Earth?  No.  Save the Humans.

i dont agree with you...We are saving our fellow animals too....Lifer can continue to exist on earth only when any life forms survive...but our actions are killing off life at an alarming rate and moreover evolution requires a long time and we are not providing the animals the time....so, i guess we should be saving the earth after all..
