Basically, the idea is to showcase how many good beach days there are in a year in my town in New Jersey. By seasons end people always say, "it seemed like it rained every day" or "how many really solid beach days were there" or maybe its just me? In any case, Vic brought this idea up to me to keep track of beach stats. Since I am a beach bum and know some php I decided to see what I could do. I googled for a pre-made calendar and got much more than i ever expected. The program is really neat as you can see.

I customized it to do something it wasnt meant to do. Much to my amazement, I got it to work. It's completely automated. Each day it will load the days weather forecast at 1pm. I won't go into details how this is figured out, but it takes into account wind conditions, temperature, and cloud cover/precipitation. The "perfect" beach day is subjective, but I've consulted the finest beach specialists out there (myself and nez) lol. Each day will get the weather conditions inputed and a shade of green or red depending on how good it was. Stats are tallied and you get to see an overall report of the beach weather.

This wont go into action until its consistantly warm, around at least 60+ every day. Further tweaking is probably needed. So for now, I am using weather conditions from various places to test like florida or hawaii. Expect the weather stats and math to not match up until I'm done. I will also make a help page showcases the key legend and whatnot. All this damn rain we've had lately has given me plenty of time to make this >;0
